BCC Sync (Email Logging) allows you to automatically log emails sent from external email tools—such as Outlook or Gmail—directly into AwardSpring records. By BCC’ing a unique AwardSpring email address, your outgoing emails are added to the donor's User Activity in AwardSpring.
If the recipient does not yet exist in AwardSpring, the system automatically creates a personal donor account and logs the email to that new record.
This feature ensures all communication is captured in one place, even when messages are sent outside of AwardSpring.
NOTE: BCC Sync is available to sites with Donor Management subscriptions enabled.
How to Use BCC Sync
Navigate to Settings in AwardSpring.
Open System Email Settings.
Locate the BCC Sync (Email Logging) section and copy your unique BCC email address.
In your external email tool (such as Outlook or Gmail), add this copied address to the BCC field when sending emails.
What Happens Next
Once you send an email and BCC your unique AwardSpring address, AwardSpring automatically processes the message and logs it as part of your organization’s communication history.
If the recipient already exists in AwardSpring (matched by profile email), the email is added to that donor’s Activity History. The activity will be labeled with “BCC” as the sender to indicate it was logged via Synchronization feature.
If the recipient does not exist in AwardSpring, the system creates a new personal donor account using the recipient’s email address. The email is then logged to the newly created account’s Activity History, allowing you to maintain a complete record of outreach without any manual data entry.
This automated process ensures that emails sent from external tools are consistently captured in AwardSpring, providing a centralized, accurate view of engagement across donors, students, and reviewers.
