Auto-apply is a feature that automatically applies qualified applicants to scholarships that do not have additional requirements. This feature is turned on by default and can be found under the Settings tab in the main navigation menu, under the Scholarships subtab.
Example: Five scholarships are available in this award cycle. The only requirement for all five scholarships is that the applicants must have a 2.0 GPA. However, the Dell Scholarship also requires that applicants state what Dell laptop they would like to receive if they were awarded the scholarship. When an applicant answers with a GPA that is higher or equal to 2.0, the applicant qualifies for all scholarships. Upon submission of the application, the applicant will be automatically be applied for all scholarships (which they can view under their Scholarships tab in the Status column), except the Dell scholarship. This is how the auto-apply feature works.
If you would like to hide auto-applied scholarships from the dashboard, you may enable 'Hide Auto Apply Scholarships from Students view'. To do so, head to Settings, then select the Scholarships subtab.
What happens to the Dell Scholarship? It will be displayed in the 'Qualified Scholarships' section of the applicant’s dashboard with a button that displays 'Complete.'
After the applicant clicks this button and completes the additional requirements, they will be prompted to submit their application for the Dell Scholarship.
Upon clicking submit, the applicant will see confirmation that the application was submitted.
