The impersonate feature allows you to view exactly what the user you are impersonating sees upon logging in. You can impersonate the Student, Reviewer and Donor user types. Administrator accounts cannot be impersonated.
Note: This is a live environment. Any actions made during impersonation are recorded under the user's account.
How to Impersonate a User
Locate the user you'd like to impersonate using the search bar under the Users tab, in the main navigation menu.
Under their Account tab, click on the yellow 'Impersonate User' button.
To stop impersonating a user, select the 'Stop Impersonating [User Name]' at the top of the page.
Student view
When impersonating a Student user, you will land on their dashboard. They may or may not have some follow-up items to complete, or they may only have a notification indicating that they were awarded a certain amount of dollars in the current cycle. Alternatively, they may have an empty dashboard with a message stating that there is nothing for them to complete at the time.
When impersonating, you as an Admin, will always have access to the Application tab, regardless of whether the application period in your current cycle is open or not. Keep in mind that students lose access to this tab once the application period closes.
Note: If you choose to make changes on the student's application, by hitting the 'Submit Application' button, you would override the current application dates, and push the student in the correct pool of scholarships they match to in real time. This is an admin-exclusive feature.
You will also have access to the Scholarships tab, where the student's qualification status will be displayed for every scholarship, as well as any awarded amounts if applicable.
Under the Donors tab, the user can read about Donor profiles (if applicable).
Reviewer view
When impersonating a Reviewer, you will land on their dashboard which can consist of review groups (if you have the Review Groups feature enabled), or scholarships (if you have the Global Review feature enabled).
In each category, they will see a list of applicants that they've been assigned.
Note: They may or may not see applicant names (this depends on if you've enabled or disabled for this information to be visible to your Reviewers).
Once you select an applicant, their full application will be displayed with a table of score cards and a notes section. This is where the scoring will take place.
Donor view
When impersonating a Donor user, you will land on their dashboard which constits of a list of awarded applicants for their scholarships. The amount that the student was awarded will be displayed, as well as the date they were awarded.
Once an applicant is selected from the list, any additional requirement responses will be displayed (for example: thank you letters).
Donors can also participate in the review process, so you'll notice an Assignments tab in their view if they have been included in a review group to score applicants. The page looks exactly like it does for Reviewers.
